The CRP Institute is a satirical organization, spoofing other similar group fiction projects such as the SCP Foundation and RPC Authority. ("CRP" obviously referring to "Crap".)
"CRP" stands for "Capture, Restrain, Provoke", which denotes the institute's more comedically obnoxious approach to dealing with anomalous items and entities.
CRP Researchers are known by two initials and a last name, such as "H.L. Mankeymoore". They are also known to use people who have wronged them in the past (such as childhood bullies) as test subjects.
The institute appears in the Dumb Dead Brother series. In these stories it is shown to house many objects and entities such as Golden Boy, Becky the Human Being, Gossamer from She's A 10, But..., and Curse. Lizzie is also shown to be a former resident of the institute, who regularly steals from them.
